A champion’s buddy.
Designed to be a non-invasive skin sensor that accurately monitors fitness and health. This wearable device delivers real-time feedback or insights of an individual’s activities which are then used to optimize one’s performance, professionally or not. With the rise of new and upcoming technologies, the use of piezoresistive pressure sensors work to retrieve body signals and further deliver real-time feedback. The device is paired with a dedicated app that offers a tailored experience, allowing users to track progress, set goals, and receive personalized recommendations for improved performance and well-being.
Research
Conducted primary and secondary research on real-time feedback from monitoring. Concluded that the mechanoreceptors receive the external stimuli and convert them to electronic signals: Meissner, Pacinian, Ruffini's corpuscles, and Merkel's disks. Experiments with pressure sensors prove its characteristics of zero crosstalk (unwanted transfer of signals between channels), rapid response time, high sensitivity, and long-term durability.
Gained insights from 72 responses from surveys regarding real-time feedback and wearable design trends. Created a branding strategy after gathering takeaways from research and decided on possible materials for the “puck”: Thermoplastic Polyurethane and Noble Metals.
Testing
Patches were tested on males and females between the ages of 19 and 23. Type of skin and placement of patch varied per person. Possible patch materials: Pressure Sensitive Acrylic Adhesive or Elastic Sports Tape.
UX/UI
Designed a compatible app that lets the user become their own coach, making this a better experience. With this app the user is able to set goals, track progress, and eventually become their own coach.




Ideation and Branding
The product underwent a series of iterations and modifications, refining its design to accommodate the optimal materials for the adhesive, ensuring comfort, durability, and effectiveness.
CMF
The CMF strategy was shaped by survey insights emphasizing aesthetics, comfort, and contemporary trends. Neutral colors were selected to create a timeless and versatile design, while materials such as Thermoplastic Polyurethane (TPU) and noble metals were chosen for their functionality, durability, and premium feel, ensuring both comfort and performance.
